December 15, 2009, marked our second annual Club Happy Hall Winter Performance. We enjoyed being entertained by the special music that was performed. The children did remarkably well; we sure could tell how much hard work went into making the performance a huge hit. We enjoyed the great cookies that Miss Marina at Club Meadows prepared and we were so excited that Santa could stop by to pay us a visit!
The Giving Tree was a huge success at all three clubs. Collectively, we raised over 1,000 dollars in gifts, gift certificates and food for families in Millbrae and San Bruno! We would like to thank each one of you who contributed to making these families' Christmases special! We were overwhelmed by the response and the giving hearts of each one of you!
Winter Camp kicked off December 18, 2009! We loved the opportunity to spend the day with your children and get to know each one of them better as our days passed. While there were numerous highlights, here is one we thought was noteworthy:
On December 23, the children traveled to Marymount Green Hills Retirement Center, in Millbrae, to perform Christmas music for the residents. As the children performed, specific residents tugged on their heart strings. After the performance, children selected one of the special residents to receive a gift. It was a delightful afternoon, not only for the residents at Marymount, but for the children and Club staff as well.
Over the course of the two weeks, the children participated in creating their own pinatas, mkekas, gifts for parents, and paroles. The children also took part in creating some holiday masterpieces in the kitchen as well, where they made Jewish latkes, Karumu cookies, tortilla snowflakes, and many additional goodies!
We had a wonderful time celebrating the holidays with you and your family! We wish you a bright and beautiful 2010. May you enjoy all that unfolds.
Our best,
Club Happy Hall Staff
